Uralsvyazinform is the leading telecommunications service provider in Russia’s Urals region. Local and long-distance communications, mobile communications (GSM-900/1800, NMT-450i, DAMPS-800 and CDMA), new communications services, and cable television are the company’s main lines of activity.
The company’s share of local communications services in the regional market is 86 percent. Its share of the DLD/ILD market is 80 percent. It has 41 percent of mobile market. As of January 1, 2005 the company served 3.4 million fixed-line subscribers and 2.0 million GSM subscribers.
