Uralsvyazinform is the leading telecommunications service provider in Russia’s Urals region. Local and long-distance communications, mobile communications in GSM-900/1800 standard, new communications services, and cable television are the company’s main lines of activity.
The company’s share of local communications services in the regional market is 82 percent. Its share of the DLD/ILD market is 29 percent. It has 45 percent of regional mobile market. As of December 31, 2005 the company served 3.6 million fixed-line subscribers and 3.7 million GSM subscribers.
